Marketplace/Welcome Center

The Marketplace/Welcome Center welcomes people to the library and guides them to other spaces in the library. How do you quickly inform and direct people in the welcoming center of the MLK Library? What elements are needed?

Self-guides

There should be interactive equipment for customers to find out basic info such as restroom locations, where to get a library card, etc. without having to ask a staff member (unless they want).

Self-checkout

There should be space for plenty of self-checkout stations, and it should be clearly marked. There also should be room for people to line up without creating clutter, and checkout stations should have space for people to put materials down while they check out.
