How would you like to see Dr. King honored in the modernized library? Whether via the building itself or the events and services offered throughout the library system, share your ideas for how to perpetuate his legacy. On Wednesday, November 4, a panel discussion and community conversation were held at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Library to discuss ideas for honoring Dr. King's legacy in the renovated and modernized library, both through the physical building and through the programs and services the library provides throughout the city. A newer, better main library in DC

In the new MLK Jr Library, I would like to see the following: 1) More personnel to assist visitors on multiple levels and reading rooms of new library 2) More computers with wifi access 3) Monthly tributes to honor MLK's legacy (i.e. films, forums, children history events) 4) Special collection or exhibit area remembering Dr. King in a prominent location of library,i.e. first floor main lobby 5) Cafe and lounge areas ...more »
